Brevard Public Schools Bike to Work Day: Friday, November 30, 2018

The Florida Department of Transportation’s reThink Your Commute program is partnering with the City of Titusville Fire Department to host a Bike to Work Day for the faculty and staff of Brevard County Public Schools. This event is being held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Titusville YMCA, located at 2400 Harrison Street, Titusville, FL 32780.

The free event is an opportunity for people who are interested in biking to work to try it for the first time with co-workers and friends. The bike ride will be slow-paced and led by a police escort. Helmets are strongly recommended. Thanks to the Coast to Coast Bicycle Company, a limited number of free bikes will be available for use by those who request a bike when registering for the event online.

Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m., followed by a safety briefing at 6:45 a.m. The group ride starts at 7:00 a.m., which consists of a 5-mile loop passing by Apollo Elementary School and Andrew Jackson Middle School before returning to the YMCA.  The anticipated arrival time back at the YMCA is 8:00 a.m.

Biking and carpooling to the event is encouraged. Parking, restrooms and showers will be provided to participants by the YMCA.

In the event of rain or inclement weather, the Bike to Work event will be rescheduled for Friday, December 14, 2018. To register for the November 30, 2018 Bike to Work Day event, please visit www.reThinkYourCommute.com/BikeTitusville
