The Florida Department of Transportation’s reThink Your Commute program is partnering with the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County to host a Bike to Work Day event on Friday, October 26, 2018. The free event is an opportunity for people who are interested in biking to work to try it for the first-time with co-workers and friends.
Riders will meet at 6:30 a.m. at the Lake Mary SunRail station, located at 2200 West Lake Mary Boulevard in Lake Mary, FL, 32746. The group ride begins at 7:00 a.m., with an anticipated arrival time at the Sanford health department before 8:00 a.m. Biking, carpooling, or riding transit to the event is encouraged. Commuters who live along the SunRail corridor should consider taking their bikes on board SunRail to the event meetup location.
The bike ride will be slow-paced and led by a police escort. Helmets are strongly recommended. A limited number of free helmets will be available at the event on a first come, first served basis. If the event of rain or inclement weather, the Bike to Work event will be rescheduled for Friday, November 9, 2018.
