Thanks to everyone who helped to make the Love to Ride Florida Challenge 2022 the
The challenge included the highest number of workplaces – 222 – and the highest number of riders – 1,714 – joining in any Florida challenge to date. The tally even exceeded the turnout for Florida Bicycle Month.
All those participants rode a total of 379,654 miles! That’s good for our planet because it prevented 11,135 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions from being released since those people used bicycles for those miles and didn’t drive cars.
It was especially encouraging to see 699 new riders, half of whom are new or occasional riders. Those first few miles can eventually lead to regular riding.
Held from Oct. 21 through Nov. 30, this friendly competition succeeded in getting more people to ride bikes.
