Several Bike Events Planned for Central Florida
 

In the coming weeks, events Central Florida are planned to promote biking to work, to school or just for fun. These events include the following:

  • “Not So Noisy” Bike Week, February 25-March 2, 2019 – Daytona Beach may be known for the roar of race cars and motorcycles, but this series of “not so noisy” bicycle events promise a unique opportunity for community building. Campus events will be hosted at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona State College and Bethune-Cookman University to promote bicycle safety to faculty, staff and students. The final event of the week is a free Community Bike Ride on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. The 8.5-mile, slow-paced ride will be escorted by the Daytona Beach Police Department.   • Bike Winter Park Group Ride, Thursday, March 7 – The City of Winter Park is hosting their annual bike celebration at 3:30 p.m. with a group bike ride leaving from Central Park on Thursday, March 7. A little number of t-shirts and goodies will be available thanks to REI. After the 5-mile ride, a “healthy” happy hour will be hosted at Park Social. The company that brings the most riders will earn a prize from the event organizers. Register at CityofWinterPark.eventbrite.com
  • City of Titusville Bike to Work Day, Friday, March 8 – Enjoy a group ride with City Manager Scott Larese, colleagues and friends bright and early on Friday, March 8. Check-in starts at 6:30 a.m. at the Titusville Welcome Center, with a safety briefing at 6:45 a.m. The 4-mile bike route will be police escorted and feature sections of the Coast to Coast Trail.   • Kissimmee Bike Bonanza, Friday, April 5 – Explore downtown Kissimmee on this 6-mile bike ride! On Friday, April 5, riders will gather between 7:00 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. at the Kissimmee Civic Center for the third annual Kissimmee Bike Bonanza. Registered participants will enjoy a light breakfast, courtesy of AdventHealth. The police-escorted group ride will leave at 7:45 a.m., visiting such destinations as Osceola Regional Medical Center, Toho Water Authority and the Kissimmee SunRail station.
